Hello World!

Mar 25, 2025 (9 days)

Back in 2005, the internet was a very different place. Starting a blog during the Web 2.0 era—yes, the cringe name for the rise of social networks and user-generated content—meant coding almost everything yourself, which included your own commenting system, and yes, worrying about SQL injection.

That was when I published my first blog post. I won't recall with precision, but it was probably me sharing some PHP or Ruby on Rails code - StackOverflow didn't exist back then. Fast forward to 2025, I never thought I’d start another blog, yet here I am, 20 years later, doing it all over again, except that this time, it feels different.

One of the best things about growing older is the freedom that comes with letting go of the need to pretend. When I hit my forties, something shifted in my mind that felt almost like a superpower: the need to chase validation just faded away.

Now, my motivation for writing is purely intrinsic—it's about self-development. This space has become my personal therapy room, where I can organize my thoughts and process ideas. I even considered keeping a private journal instead of starting a blog, but then I realized there was another key piece to this... Writing is an incredible learning tool!

One of the best ways to learn is by explaining what you’ve discovered to others. It forces your brain to structure your thoughts, and that effort alone makes all the difference. Even if no one ever reads these posts, I want to write as if I’m speaking to a real audience—not just my future self.

I hope what’s helped me can be of value to you as well.

p.s: I’m currently living in the Bay with my family, right on the Stanford campus. If you're around and up for a coffee, feel free to reach out!
